Everyone has a kind of childhood. And Yours Truly loved reading books when he was young - Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Christopher Pike, Hans Christian Anderson, and comics (not manga mind you, but those English ones like Archie, Garfield, and Tintin).
And yes! It was really good news when I knew that there are discussions to revive Tintin in a movie, with the help of Steven Spielberg. For those who were born in the 90s and do not know who Tintin was - He is the heroic young journalist and adventurer created by Belgian cartoonist Hergé in 1946. His adventures had been made into 23 books, and has been translated to numerous languages.
Mr Spielberg and his company DreamWorks have committed to produce at least one Tintin movie and are gearing up for pre-production on the film with Nick Rodwell, head of Hergé's Moulinsart Studios. But since the movie is likely to be completed in 2009, we may have to wait for some time!
