Entropa, a 172-square-foot art installation, was unveiled early this month at European Council Headquarters in Brussels to mark the start of the six-month Czech presidency of the European Union. Yes, King Sarkozy is finally spending more of his time to rescue the French economy!
I really love the Entropa for what Europe signifies - A continent so diverse in political system, culture and language that it will take a miracle to for the independent states to agree unanimously on a common topic. If you look carefully, geographical shapes and stereotypes were used by the artist to depict the EU member states. France is shown as a country on strike (*not surprising at all*), and Bulgaria as a rudimentary squatting toilet (*better than doing it at a bush*). Britain, uhm.. is absent from Europe altogether (*ouch*).
If there is a similar art installation for ASEAN, I think Singapore will most likely be a little red dot with a bobbing plate of Hainanese Chicken Rice. With extra garlic chilli sauce. =)
