Brand New Year, Same Old Story

We said our bye bye's (cue Mariah) to 2008, and gave 2009 a warm welcome amidst a smogasboard of parties, well wishes and merry-making.

Somehow, 2009 already seems to be a difficult period. We are witnessing the s*** accumulated over the previous quarters - the worst global economic crisis since the Great Depression, the 2nd local recession in 5 years, mass layoffs, bank bailouts, and the list goes on. In short, it is not just going to be bad, it will be bloody bad.

Humans beings generally lack security 安全感, which explains why we worry about almost everything under the sky from the day we know the good from the bad. That being said, thankfully the Bible managed to make some sense out of this crazy world. Jesus said:-

"Do not to worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. "

- Matthew 6: 25, 33
"所以我告诉你们,不要为生命忧虑吃什么,喝什么。为身体忧虑穿什么。
你们要先求他的国和他的义。这些东西都要加给你们了。"
- 马太福音6: 25, 33

If our Father have fed and shelterd the sparrows even when they don't reap or sow or store in the barn, Man should not worry or doubt His grace and providence in times of need. I say, kill those negative thoughts and bad news, because we will be just fine.. fine.. fine.. fine.. fine.. fine.. WOO!

"Just Fine"- Mary J Blige
