Pops Turning 60

My dad turns 60 this year, and I suggested going to somewhere a bit more presentable. After all, how many times can you celebrate your big six zero., right? Justin got to find somwhere in the East, serves healthy Cantonese fare, and is value-for-money (Yes, times are bad!). Thanks to some food blogs and friend's recommendations, my family ended up at Paramount Tung Lok.

Dinner started at about 8pm (trust me, all of us were s-t-a-r-v-i-n-g by that time) cos my brother was late. Grouses aside, I loved the food -really yummy Cantonese cuisine. Service was pretty good too - we had attention from a waitress that was smitten by Baby Eze. Well although Ezekiel didn't manage to savour most of the food, he had a ball of the time exploring his playground for the night.

I don't have the passion of taking pictures of my food, but these 寿桃 really caught my attention. (For those wondering what these are, they are buns filled with sweet lotus seed paste that are shaped like peaches. It symbolises longevity according to Chinese mythology, and is a must-have item if you are celebrating your birthdays at a restaurant. So it kinda serves the function of the usual birthday cake). The camwhore in me just sprang into life to snap a picture of the cute little buns (hey, no naughty ideas ya!).

*Lovely buns*
