Have you heard of local artist Paul Koh and his works? It's time you do, if you like the kitty above. Actually, yours truly wouldn't have discovered this local artist if I had not visit his blog about 2 years ago. And yes, I really love his post-modernist paintings that depict cats in interesting settings. So when he held his exhibition recently, I decided to drag my gf along too. Not a bad thing, when you really wish to avoid the crowd at the malls or cinemas. And I really lucky that I have a partner that appreciates visiting galleries / museums as much as me.
Anyway, just a shameless dig for this really talented artist. Paul Koh, together and his artistic partner Michelle Chang (they call themselves PaulMysh, pretty cool huh!) create a series of cat-inspired art pieces, aptly titled "CatmaSutra". In Paul's own words:
"Catmasutra painting exhibitions showcase pure indulgence at play and at rest. (The artists) root around pop culture to pull out treasures that continue the catty tales of Angel and Halo (Paul's pet cats). Paul’s approach to art resembles the personality of the cat – playful, curious, unpredictable and quirky."
If you have the time, do visit his current exhibition:
