Top of The World

All this time, Man has been trying to conquer physical terrain for the wrong reasons. The Holy Bible told us about those buggers that tried to play God by building the Tower of Babel. We also saw the numerous boh-liao people that "wasted" local taxpayers' money to climb the Everest. Of cos, the Carpenters sang about being "on top of the world", but ended up being seriously unhappy in the scene.

Yours truly went to the Tree Top Walk at MacRitchie Reservoir with his sweetheart this afternoon. This was my second visit - the first being 2 years ago with my friends from Providence. There may not be any significant change to the facility (I mean.. all the trees look kinda similar after 30min or so), but it was worth all the effort when you're doing it with and for your loved one. Yeps - Tintin had to overcome his fear for heights all over again as he tried very hard not to look down from the suspending bridge. A pair of aching feet was also pretty much the result after the 3 hour trek.

Clinical the Lion City may be, we appreciated God's beautiful creation - the blue skies, the green forest canopy, and the many adorable monkeys that greeted us along the way. We also saw God's faithfulness in giving us good weather. Thunder from a distant could be heard even before we reached the Tree Top Walk facility, hence Shan and I began asking the Lord to hold the rain till we have completed the journey. After all, getting wet in the jungle is probably the lousiest thing to be. Our heart grew heavier when rain seemed imminent. The skies grew darker, the thunder grew louder, and several cars from S'pore Island Country Club did not stop to give us a ride out. It was only when we're only a couple of steps away from the bus stop, that the rain began to fall.

God is so good, ain't he?
