Tintin and Shan visited Singapore's National Museum over the weekend. A first time for both of us since it reopened to the public last year.
The idea to visit the Museum first popped up when I was going home on Thursday, and we sorta agreed that it shall be our weekend outing destination. Then came a company email on Friday morning informing all BNP employees of 50% rebates for tickets to the Museum. *shimmy* The best thing was when we arrived this afternoon, we realised it was International Tourist Guide Day, and tickets were going for just $5 per person. *double shimmy*
To set the record straight, I am super proud of our Museum, but wasn't too impressed by how it looked as compared to say, British Museum. So I was blown away by how BEAUTIFUL it is after the renovations (yes, you can say it was taxpayers' money well spent!). The new extension was really the highlight. I have a soft spot for LED display panels, and glass ceilings, so it got all the things right for muah.
We were treated to a fabulous display of Greek masterpieces brought from the Lourve, and got to enjoy a screening of Jason and the Argonauts at the Stamford Garden outside the Museum in the evening. It was just magical as we munched down our Subway dinner and Mr Tea's ice teh tarik under the stars and in the cool weather. Cannot ask for more when you're spending time with your darling.
Yes, the National Museum of Singapore is all sexy and beautiful after its slim-wrap and chemical peel treatments...erm... I mean... the renovations...
5 Stars!
