Do you sometimes get so overwhelmed by studies/work or feel unappreciated by your peers that you question the meaning of your existence and self-worth. Actually, it also depends on what we perceive to be valuable in this world. It is a paradox because some colleagues may lament (read: curse and swear) when they don't win the $1.5m TOTO, while the poor in a corner of the world worry if they can have their next meal.
I suppose Singaporeans often take many things in life for granted. If the smallest insect in the garden is given air, water and a habitat to live in, our dear God will surely sustain us physically, emotionally and spiritually. Instead of lamenting the things that we do not have, we ought to learn to praise the Lord for the things that we have.
It is a coincidence that the message in my church banner for October centered on God's grace for all things big and small. It featured a range of animals - from the tiny sparrow to the tall giraffe, and makes reference to a familiar verse in Psalm 150 (credit to Sunday School which had taught me well when I was pre-pubsecent restless young man).
“让凡有气息的,都要赞美耶和华。你们要赞美耶和华。”
