At The Pier

My missus and I decided to let our hair down after a long hard week. For the first time in weeks, we did not end up at Jurong or other overcrowded suburban centre. And boy was I glad that we ended up at Pierside, a very pretty drinking hole at One Fullerton complex.

It boasts a spectacular view of the bay, feed your aural senses with sensual acid jazz/ bossa nova on the DJ deck, and aim to satisfy your pallette with exotic and attractively-priced (during happy hours) cocktails. +1 if you manage to get to sit at the alfresco area near to the water. It offered more privacy, and the breeze under the shady frangipani trees provided some relief from the humidity. Haha, talking about frangipani trees. They reminded me of Pontianak stories from my army days. According to local folklore, on such trees there lived sexually-frustrated female ghosts that prey on virile young men. It got me thinking if there is a SPG inside a Pontianak, they will be called SPP i.e. Sarong Party Pontianaks, they prefer the ang-mohs (caucasians in local dialect) at the bar instead?

Well, I concluded the Pontianak has bad taste, because Tintin survived the night lounging under the lovely frangipani trees at the Pierside.

Still Sober
