Annie Lennox - Songs of Mass Destruction

Annie Lennox has just released her latest album "Songs of Mass Destruction" in the United States on 1st October. I managed to sample some tracks from her official website annielennox.com, and I was blown away by the new sounds and look that Annie is bringing to the world this time round.

This lady has given us great music in her Eurythmics days in the 80s and 90s, and continued to deliver heartfelt songs in her solo albums. What I like most are the occasional surprises she gives at live performances - the soulful renditions of old hits such as "Bridge over Troubled Waters", "Tracks of My Tears" (with Smokey Robinson), "Under Pressure" (with David Bowie) and "What's Going On" (with Seal).

In the meantime, check out the Diva's newest single "Dark Road". Annie poured her feelings in this song, singing about the war and the country where she makes most of her music, United States. Listen carefully to the lyrics and and you will understand the irony of the video - a wonderwoman taking a New York cab!

I am so waiting for the album to be released in Singapore!
