Singapore's economy is doing A-OK...

1H06 GDP growth was 9.4%, CIMB-GK is relatively confident that growth for the full year will be around 8%. [slime those people who boo us for being aggressive in Jan] The govt now says 2006 growth will be 6.5-7.5% instead of the early 5-7%.

It is everyone's guess is that this conservative forecast will be handy when the PM delivers his New Year message at the end of the year – it is more always more shiok to say the 2006 GDP growth exceeded expectation than to say growth is in line with govt forecast!
