Muff... Muff... Muffins

Recently I had a thing for muffins. Yes, the little cake that's often the poorer cousin of scones at the afternoon tea table. Well, although I will die to have scones anytime (yes, it taste like heaven with good cup of coffee or english tea!), it's muffin which you can get easily in Singapore.

The humble muffin has walked out of cafes into hawker center stores, HDB shop space, and obscure shopping center coffee shops. Yes, you heard it. The best muffins in CBD are in Amoy Street Hawker Center. It stick out like a sore thumb from the famous stalls selling fish head noodles, and penyet chicken. But the apricot muffins are to die for.

A special friend enjoys muffins (banana & walnut, and raspberry... ok, everyone loves chocolate muffins, so that one is a no count!) as much as I do. But I knew I got to get her the apricot muffins and the blueberry muffins from Amoy, as they are so chokeful of flavour. And I swear this is the only place that bakes apricot muffins that well at $1 each.

So there, if you are at Amoy... keke*
